Moa Timber Garage

moa-log-garage

The name “Moa” is a female name of Scandinavian origin that means Mother. Suited to the “Mother” and “child” pairing of these 2 separate spaces, under one roof, in this characteristic “Moa” timber garage.

The “Mother” being the larger 4.8m x 3.3m room, with large forward opening double doors.
The “Child” being the smaller 4.8m x 2.35 room, with a single glazed door, and 2 tilt and turn double-glazed windows elegantly situated on the corner of the cabin.

The Internal wall is to the same specification timber as the external walls, in-keeping with the overall look and quality of the log cabin garage. All of our timber cabins consist of first-rate spruce timber, chosen for its tight, dense wood grain.

Coloured to your style

Our Moa timber garage at the end of your driveway will be sure to turn the heads of passer-bys. Of course, you can paint/tailor the timber structure to suit your style. We particularly like the way one of our customers has styled their timber garage with a slate-blue colour and contrasting white frames.

Timber Stain

We supply this cabin untreated. We recommend that you treat the building with high quality paints and treatments. Our Embadecor Timber Stain, available in 14 different shades, finished this very attractive timber garage. Completed with elegant, contemporary up-down wall lights.

Roofing Options

As with all of our log cabins and garages we offer the choice of either standard roof felt or chose from a range of IKO felt shingles as roofing options.

Many of our customers opt for the shingles, as these have a much more appealing look to them, superior in quality and they last much, much longer. They also come in a number of shapes and colours to match the finish of your timber garden garage.

Teeming with Potential Uses

With its appealing design and layout the “Moa” has a multitude of potential uses.
Of course one of them is to store you car, motorcycle, or even a sit-on lawn mower in a secure location.

Another use is a garden office. With a lot more people now working remotely, out of the traditional office, this cabin comes equipped, providing a great garden office away from the distractions of the home. With the natural light having 3 points of entry as well at opening windows it can provide an excellent working environment.

A hobby / craft room is also an option for this cabin. Make use of both spaces where you can concentrate on planning for your latest ideas in the smaller rooms, then move over to the larger room to make your ideas come to life.

Optional Extras

Why not complement your cabin with a number of our optional extras, such as.

  • Coloured Felt Roof Shingles (as mentioned above)
  • Storm kit to help safeguard your cabin in exposed, windy areas.
  • Shingle Glue useful when installing felt shingles during the cooler Autumn or Winter months
  • Air Vent to help improve air circulation and ventilation of your log cabin
  • Profiled foundation beams in pressure impregnated timber, hardwood or composite, which allow water to drain away from the base of the building
  • Guttering to divert running water away from the walls and windows so the cabin will stay drier

Customer Reviews

Of course we will tell you how excellent our products are, but don’t just take our word for it.
Here are a few of our customer reviews.

William says
Quite simply superb – yet again! This is the second building we have bought from Tuin and once again we are greatly pleased with the quality and simplicity of construction. It’s like Lego for grown ups!

David says
“What a great product. Amazed to see it go up in less than a day by Philip, one of there approved installers. I am really pleased with the garage quality and the Tuin team. Although I did have an issue with the double doors, all my enquiries resolved with prompt and response until satisfactory. I would definitely recommend them, give them a try.”

Jon says
“Bought the Moa for storing my classic car and also for the wife’s gardening equipment and can honestly say from start to finish Tuin have been a pleasure to deal with from the start where I asked for delivery to be brought forward 3 weeks which was not a problem for them .
The building itself is a very straightforward affair to assemble, the most difficult was the roof only because I suffer with a bad back.

Overall, I highly recommend Tuin as a company and their really well made products.
Thank you Tuin it’s been a pleasure.”

Quality

With all our log cabins & garages, we adhere to Dutch and German standards, renowned for being considerably higher than in the UK.

Slow Grown Timber

We use slow grown spruce timber, choosing this variety for its tight, dense wood grain.

Why slow?
Because our timber is grown in mountainous regions it grows slower.
Slow grown spruce is durable, more dense, and much less likely to twist, bend or warp compared to the faster grown equivalent

We also use Spruce instead of pine for several reasons and one of them is the likelihood of hidden sap pockets. This substantially reduces with Spruce (but still possible) See our blog on this very subject.

Anti-Rot

We offer a 10 year anti rot promise, as long as your cabin is well ventilated and able to “breathe” so it can dry. Our cabins will last much longer as long as you look after it.
We have an excellent comprehensive blog on treatments and rotting in one of our blogs.

Benefits of keeping your car in a garage

More secure

Having your car sitting in a driveway leaves it exposed to being potentially broken into or stolen. Having a secure area to store it in is a must-have. This solid timber garage is an ideal solution. Its large reinforced hinges, double glazing, and door push bolt help keep your beloved car secure.

Protects car from weather

The great British weather can be a little unforgiving at times, as well as temperamental.
Years of bad and even “good” weather can take its toll on a car.
Whether it’s rusted wheel arches, or faded paintwork the downfalls of leaving your car outside increases the risks.

Makes everyday life a little easier

Storing your car in a sheltered environment can also make your life a little easier. With summers getting hotter, having a cooler outbuilding to keep your car out of direct sunlight is a real comfortable benefit

Helps avoid damage

Keeping your car outside also leaves it prone to other potential damages. Stone chips from passing vehicles or wing mirrors being knocked off can be a real nuisance.

Kerb appeal

A lot of people like to take pride in the way their house looks from the outside, storing your car off the street can help with this. A pleasant-looking timber garage prevents the exterior of your home from looking messy and gives it a cleaner look.

Save money on insurance

Some insurance companies could possibly offer a lower rate if they know you will be parking your car in your secure home garage. Storing it off the streets leaves it less open to potential theft or damages, so the chance of you needing to claim is a lot lower.
