Timber Garage – “MOA”

Moa timber garage

The name “Moa” is a female name of Scandinavian origin that means Mother.
Suited to the “Mother” and “child” pairing of these 2 separate spaces, under one roof, in this characteristic “Moa” timber garage.

The “Mother” being the larger 4.8m x 3.3m room, with large forward opening double doors.
The “Child” being the smaller 4.8m x 2.35 room, with a single glazed door, and 2 tilt and turn double-glazed windows elegantly situated on the corner of the cabin.

The Internal wall is to the same specification timber as the external walls, in-keeping with the overall look and quality of the log cabin garage. All of our timber cabins are made from first-rate spruce timber, chosen for its tight, dense wood grain.

Coloured to your style

Our Moa timber garage at the end of your driveway will be sure to turn the heads of passer-bys. Of course the timber structure can be painted, tailored to suit your style. We particularly like the way one of our customers has styled their timber garage with a slate-blue colour and contrasting white frames.

Timber Stain

This cabins is supplied untreated, we recommend that the building is treated with high quality paints and treatments. This very attractive finished timber garage was stained using some of our Embadecor Timber Stain available in 14 different shades. Completed with elegant, contemporary up-down wall lights.

Roofing Options

As with all of our log cabins and garages we offer the choice of either standard roof felt or chose from a range of IKO felt shingles as roofing options.
Many of our customers opt for the shingles, as these have a much more appealing look to them, superior in quality and they last much, much longer. They also come in a number of shapes and colours to match the finish of your timber garden garage.

Teeming with Potential Uses

With its appealing design and layout the “Moa” has a multitude of potential uses.
Of course one of them is to store you car, motorcycle, or even a sit-on lawn mower in a secure location.

Another use is a garden office. With a lot more people now working remotely, out of the traditional office, this cabin is ideally equipped to provide a great garden office away from the distractions of the home. With the natural light having 3 points of entry as well at opening windows it can provide an excellent working environment.

A hobby / craft room is also an option for this cabin. Make use of both spaces where you can concentrate on planning for your latest ideas in the smaller rooms, then move over to the larger room to make your ideas come to life.

Optional Extras

Why not complement your cabin with a number of our optional extras, such as.

  • Coloured Felt Roof Shingles (as mentioned above)
  • Storm kit to help safeguard your cabin in exposed, windy areas.
  • Shingle Glue useful when felt shingles are installed during the cooler Autumn or Winter months
  • Air Vent to help improve air circulation and ventilation of your log cabin
  • Profiled foundation beams in pressure impregnated timber, hardwood or composite, which allow water to drain away from the base of the building
  • Guttering to divert running water away from the walls and windows so the cabin will stay drier

Customer Reviews

Of course we will tell you how excellent our products are, but don’t just take our word for it.
Here are a few of our customer reviews.

William says
Quite simply superb – yet again! This is the second building we have bought from Tuin and once again we are greatly pleased with the quality and simplicity of construction. It’s like Lego for grown ups!

David says
What a great product and amazing to see it go up in less than a day by Philip one of there approved installers. I am really pleased with the quality of the garage and the Tuin team. I did have an issue with the double doors although all my enquires were dealt with promptly and they remained helpful until resolved satisfactorily. I would definitely recommend them, give them a try.

Jon says
Bought the Moa for storing my classic car and also for the wife’s gardening equipment and can honestly say from start to finish Tuin have been a pleasure to deal with from the start where I asked for delivery to be brought forward 3 weeks which was not a problem for them .
The building itself is a very straight forward affair to assemble, the most difficult was the roof only because I suffer with a bad back .
Overall I would highly recommend Tuin as a company and their product is really well made .
Thank you Tuin it’s been a pleasure

Quality

With all our log cabins & garages, we adhere to Dutch and German standards, renowned for being considerably higher than in the UK.

Slow Grown Timber

We use slow grown spruce timber, this variety is chosen for its tight, dense wood grain.

Why slow?
Because our timber is grown in mountainous regions it grows slower.
Slow grown spruce is durable, more dense, and much less likely to twist, bend or warp compared to the faster grown equivalent

We also use Spruce instead of pine for several reasons and one of them is the likelihood of hidden sap pockets. This is substantially reduced with Spruce (but still possible) See our blog on this very subject.

Anti-Rot

We offer a 10 year anti rot promise, as long as your cabin is well ventilated and able to “breathe” so it can dry. Our cabins will last much longer as long as you look after it.
We have an excellent comprehensive blog on treatments and rotting in one of our blogs.

Benefits of keeping your car in a garage

More secure

Having your car sitting in a driveway leaves it exposed to being potentially broken into or stolen. Having a secure area to store it in is a must-have. This solid timber garage is an ideal solution. Its large reinforced hinges, double glazing, and door push bolt help keep your beloved car secure.

Protects car from weather

The great British weather can be a little unforgiving at times, as well as temperamental.
Years of bad and even “good” weather can take its toll on a car.
Whether it’s rusted wheel arches, or faded paintwork the downfalls of leaving your car outside increases the risks.

Makes everyday life a little easier

Storing your car in a sheltered environment can also make your life a little easier. With summers getting hotter, having a cooler outbuilding to keep your car out of direct sunlight is a real comfortable benefit

Helps avoid damage

Keeping your car outside also leaves it prone to other potential damages. Stone chips from passing vehicles or wing mirrors being knocked off can be a real nuisance.

Kerb appeal

A lot of people like to take pride in the way their house looks from the outside, storing your car off the street can help with this. A pleasant-looking timber garage prevents the exterior of your home from looking messy and gives it a cleaner look.

Save money on insurance

Some insurance companies could possibly offer a lower rate if they know you will be parking your car in your secure home garage. Storing it off the streets leaves it less open to potential theft or damages, so the chance of you needing to claim is a lot lower.

Wood Garage – “Marketta”

“Marketta” meaning “Pearl” or “Jewel”. From our images of this stunning contemporary wood garage we can really see how its name came about.

This gorgeous looking “Marketta” wood garage is sure to turn heads as it sits proudly as the end of your driveway. With its clean lines and well thought out design it will be at the envy of your friends and neighbours.

Contemporary Design garage

This cabin has many contemporary features that makes it stand out from the crowd. With its stylish 4 panel double glazed side door, its bold facia boards and its adorable bottom-hung sash double-glazed windows. This lovely log cabin wood garage really excels with its style and poise. Its contemporary design and elegant features, do not take away from its wooden cabin characteristics. It’s certainly no ordinary “garage”.

wood garage Potential uses

One of our many happy customers “JC” reviewed the “marketta” and said this.
I’ve had this Marketta log wood garage for a while now, but it is too nice to use just for storage, so now I’m converting to a home office, with some glass sliding doors.

We couldn’t agree more. Of course this indoor space is fine to store your possessions, keep your car safe and secure or to store your garden equipment. But JC is right, it is simply “too nice just for storage”.

So why not think of a more suitable pairing for this charming cabin.
Here are just a few.

Garage Garden Office

As JC said, this endearing cabin would make an ideal garden office. Its beautiful sash windows and full length double glazed side door, allow for natural light to brighten the room.
With a lot more people now working remotely, out of the traditional office, this cabin is ideally equipped to provide a great garden office away from the distractions of the home. Also make use of the double doors for those larger pieces of office furniture and equipment. (how many offices can you say have that attribute?)

Garden Gym

A place to exercise and work-out is quickly becoming a must-have. Especially if you reside in the countryside without the nearby amenities of a fully equipped gym. The “Marketta” can provide the capacity and elegance of a superb home / garden gym to suit your needs. WIth its easy access side door and double forward opening doors to let more fresh air in for when the occasion calls for it.

Wooden Garage Garden Bar

A garden pub / bar to store and serve drinks your drinks from is a modern, trendy addition to the home garden experience. An attractive, scenic place to entertain your guests after a dinner party or family gathering is increasingly more sought after. In which the “Marketta” is more than capable to accommodate. Our bar table with display back would be an exemplary addition to this look, in-keeping with the same interlocking build design as the cabin itself.

Roofing

Our pent roof cabins such as this comes with a EPDM Roofing sheet as standard.

The EPDM is supplied with adhesive and is a superior alternative compared to normal roofing felt and shingles for cabins with this roof type, and can last for up to 20 years.

This cabin also comes with a minimum measurement of 16mm Tongue and Groove roof boards.

Wooden Garage – “GEIR”

Image of our Geir wooden garage

Geir originates in Old Norse and means “man with a spear” but why stop there?

With this wooden garage addition to your outdoor area, it could comfortably translate to “man with first-rate garage”.

Our Geir Wooden Garage would be an elegant addition to any driveway.
Featuring large double doors to store your car as well as space for garden tools.
With a double-glazed side access door and 2 double-glazed opening windows, makes this garage perfectly light and airy.

Measuring 3.6 X 5.4M this wooden garage isn’t the biggest in our range, but if you are limited on space this is the perfect solution to compliment your outdoor space.

The versatility of the Geir wooden garage

With no additional logs or extras, the Geir can be adapted to suit its requirements, The door and windows can be placed on either the left or right-hand wall as a unit. Also, the position of the door and window can be swapped with the door to the front or rear of the Garage.

The Geir wooden cabin is not only ideal to store your car, but it also has many other potential uses. A “man cave” is all the rage nowadays, a room where one or more male (or female) family members and optionally their friends can do as they please, indulge in hobbies, and hang out with friends. The capacity provided by this log cabin is ideal for a retreat to watch sports matches, play video games, or just hang out. Our Log Cabin Style Bar Table would also work incredibly well as a place to serve your drinks.

A workshop, this cabin can provide more than enough room for a workshop. Maybe you’re a motorcycle enthusiast and require the space and security this cabin provides.

A carpenter, who needs the capacity for your latest creations, as well as the large double doors for access to the more substantial builds.

A shed, simply a space to store all your regular garden equipment, or maybe you have a large sit-on lawn mower that you need to keep safe and secure.

Turn Up the Heat

The garage can of course be used all year round. With additional insulation and the inclusion of a range of our heaters for when the colder weather sets in, or for when you’re still working on that engine well into the evening.

Geir Wooden Garage – The Build

As with most of our log cabins and wooden garages, our “Geir Log Garage” can be assembled with a basic understanding of DIY and construction.

We have an excellent blog covering all aspects of the build which we advise you to read before undertaking the construction yourself.

The Base

A good solid base to assemble your new cabin is essential and must be prepared and ready before you make any attempt to start your assembly. We have another excellent blog covering all you need to know about bases and their requirements.

Customer Reviews

Graham says

An excellent product that is exactly as described in the blurb. Relatively easy to install, i did it alone in 3 days, not a problem but it would have been much easier with two people.
Very robust and solid, i replaced a large standard type shed with it and there is no comparison, many times better and more useable.

Nick says

This is the third Tuin shed I have purchased and I cannot find a fault with either the sheds or the service.
The sheds are brilliant, go together easily and are really solid. There is no comparison between a Tuin shed and the normal shiplap board type which I have purchased in the past.
I would highly recommend Tuin both for their products, prices and service.
