Jackalyn Log Cabin 5.0m x 4.0m - 40mm Logs with Canopy

Our cabin has been up since the summer of last year and its fantastic apart from one issue. When the rain is driven into the front of the cabin by wind, the doors leak quite badly. They have had several coats of Sanolin exterior wood stain and the inside has had several coats of clear varnish. We had the issue last winter where putting a silicone bead around the window appeared to sort the problem. However it's back again so it looks like there is a problem either with the way the windows are installed to the doors, or with my specific set of doors. I am in converstion with Tuin support (who have been excellent through the order, delivery, installation process) and their ongoing support is excellent. I'm hopeful we can get this door water ingress issue rooted out and sorted

We are so pleased with our Jacklyn log cabin. We were recommended Tuin and we weren’t disappointed. From start to finish everything was perfect. Friendly helpful staff, delivered on time and the quality of the cabin was spot on. We are in our seventies and with the help of our son we were able to erect the cabin in one day. It fitted together perfectly. We heeded the advice given and made sure our concrete base was as level as possible. Overall we would highly recommend Tuin. We are very happy customers.

I purchased two cabins at the same time, the first a Victoria Cabin as a WFH office for my wife and the Jackalyn as a workshop/storage for me. I used precast concrete kerbs as footings and concreted a floor slab within the kerbs. As long as the dimensions and level of the kerbs are accurate, placing the composite foundation beam is a doddle, from there I built the structure of the cabin on my ow in one day and the roof boards (provided), insulation and osb deck (sourced separately) completed the next day. I haven’t fitted the felt tiles yet and look forward to seeing the finished article. Quality of the timber and machining was spot on and all slotted together nicely with a rubber persuader. The windows and doors provided were great and slotted in without bother. Very impressed all round with Tuin from ordering, delivery and the quality of the product.

Extremely helpful with advice regarding base requirements etc, Delivery was superb because we live in a narrow service road, I’ve never seen an articulated lorry enter in 30 years. Not a problem for the haulage company because the driver just unloaded the cabin with his Moffett.
I couldn’t believe the whole cabin contents arrived on one pallet. I I also had a faulty door catch and Tuin just sent me a replacement in the post. I couldn’t rate Tuin any higher. Absolutely brilliant product & customer service.

Took delivery last July and almost a year later and my cabin still looks fantastic, the delivery driver was superb had to navigate down a small lane and this was not a problem, started the build at 06:30 one Saturday morning and was putting the roof boards on at 12:30, the build was so easy to do after watching the video tutorials,all the family have really enjoyed making the most of the cabin from birthday parties to sleep overs and I would recommend Tuin to everybody

Absolutely fantastic service from ordering to delivery,lots of communication telling us when to expect it, driver was very polite and helpful, used his fork truck to get it onto our drive, it was massive but my husband and I managed to move it all to the garden. We had it built for us and it went together very easily, it is very good quality and lots of people have commented on how well built it is for the money.
It looks a lot more expensive than it was and we are really pleased with it.we have used decking oil to protect it and it looks great, it comes with a lock and key, the windows are good with latches to hold it open.we had a concrete base laid before it went up and have laid laminate flooring inside. We are so pleased we went with Tuin, we are very happy all round and would recommend this company to everyone.

Bought the Jackalyn cabin during first COVID lockdown as consolation after having 3 holidays cancelled! Choice was quite limited as many people had bought cabins to use as home offices, but saw this one and decided it was about right size and in stock.
Delivery was good, got a call in advance and the cabin arrived an hour later. Delivery driver was pleasant, and dropped it on our drive with the aid of a forklift type vehicle.
I carried it bit by bit round to the back garden next day, which took all morning, but I was working alone and do be aware that it totals 1.35 tons weight. Do get a second pair of hands if possible as it is both tiring and time consuming.
I had a concrete base put down the previous week, so decided to start building in the afternoon. Construction was very easy to be honest. I am an engineer so maybe that’s easy for me to say, but honestly it went together very well, and once I had built 4 layers high and squared it up on the composite supports, I was able to build up to the start of the apex by late afternoon. Fortunately, my son-in-law called in, so we were able to complete the build and slot in roof joists As well as window and door frames by the end of the day.
The tongue and groove roof planks were time consuming, as was fitting the shingles, but Tuindeco do provide a video to help you understand how to fix the shingles, which is useful. I can’t comment on flooring as I purchased my own, but over all I am very happy with the quality of the product, and would certainly recommend Tuin if you are looking to buy a log cabin. Hope this review is of some help, and good luck if you decide to purchase, you won’t regret it.

We received our Jackalyn Log Cabin in February 2021. The whole process from ordering to delivery was faultless and communication from Tuin was excellent.
We chose to lay a concrete base for the Cabin paying particular attention to levels and damp proofing to ensure installation was simple and the longevity of the cabin was maximised. The quality of the product is second to none and no issues were encountered throughout the construction process, in fact it was great fun to build for me and my other half. Our Jackalyn is now a fully functioning traditional English garden pub and many happy memories have already been made in there with friends and family.
We would not hesitate to order from Tuin again! Highly recommended!

The delivery of the log cabin came on time and was offloaded exactly the place we wanted it.The driver was polite and helpful.
The cabin was erected in one day with the roof shingles the next day.
The quality of the timber was better than I expected and it was easy to slot together.
It is so important to get the base level an square which was completed before the cabin arrived, this made the build go without any problems.
The cabin is spacious and looks great.
Tuin made the buying process easy and product is of a very good quality.

For those worrying about delivery, don't. I live on a main road so was concerned the lorry would block traffic for a while. It didn't happen. It took all of 3 mins from the driver stopping to unloading the cabin with his forklift. I had my son and a friend coming round the following afternoon to help with the assembly. I started moving the cabin, by hand, from the front to the back garden and organized the bits in order of assembly as I did. At 9 am I thought I might as well make a start. 4 hours later I was putting the last roof beam on!. My help arrived just after and we spent the rest of the afternoon putting the roof on. Did the shingles the next morning. I'm not a DIY expert by any means but it was a really simple build and anyone with an ounce of common sense should be able to do it. I now have my 'man cave' at the bottom of the garden...

We had it delivered during first lockdown and from the start ,helped with choosing right one for us ,talking to their wonderful staff,the driver that was so helpful and the support we couldn’t of wished for more.
For size issues we had to initially cancel an order placed and they did nothing but help us all the way and making sure we got the one best for our needs and specifications.They went well beyond what we was expecting and even advised us on best products for the stain and protection.
The driver was fab ,and didn’t hesitate once when having to get the forklift to transport it down our small and narrow street ,his attitude and patience was impressive!

Ordered the Jackalyn in January and after a few changes of delivery it arrived on 6th April right in the middle of the lockdown. Communication from Tuin was good and also from the delivery company. Driver arrived 45 minutes after calling me and was very couteous, happy and easy to deal with. Interestingly the company he works for is based in Leek near Groningen in Northern Holland. My Head Office is on the same Industrial Estate. Anyway the cabin was put on my drive and all social distancing observed. I left it a few days and then carried all 1.35T of it through the garge, utility and into the garde. Followed the info and put all same sized parts together.
The load bearers were a pain to get right with the cutting but had it up to eaves height in 5 hours on my own. My wife had to help steady the gables due the the weight but had all of the roof on in 4 hours.
The worst bit is the shingles, it took 7 hours.
Only issue was the doors wouldn't latch but a spacer behind the plate and all good.
Very sturdy, easy to put up if you ignore the manual and just go by the drawings.
Would highly recommecnd Tuin and it's products.
Now to preseve the wood!!!

Only to say, the Jackalyn Log Cabin was perfect, the quality is very good and now I have only the decking to do.

This is third building I bought and erected the fist one from Tuin. The communication has been excellent delivery driver asked if he could deliver previous evening because he was only a few miles away this saved us a day the building was fealty well packaged and being precision engineered went up with no issues at all the offer of free singles was icing on the cake! We are very happy with our Jacklyn log cabin. It was easy to construct and everything in the kit was right and accurate. The instructions manual was straight forward and the video online support very helpful.

The quality of the product and components is very high and we are delighted with the look of the finished cabin now it has been treated.

This is the second cabin that I have purchased from Tuin, and I have to say that they are the best in the market place to work with.

The Jackalyn cabin is superb, it is very easy to build, if you look at all of the advice on the website before starting and watch the videos, you will have no problems at all, it took 2 of us just over a day to get the outside done and a further day to lay the floor.

The quality is exceptional, and it is already getting fantastic comments from friends and family about how great it looks. if you have the space, a cabin this size is a must, as is purchasing from Tuin.

Our last log cabin came from the largest UK online provider, however having moved house we needed a new one. The cabin will be positioned under heavy tree canopy so we wanted one that would last and be useable for possible craft workshops in future. Delivery was excellent and took less than 7 minutes! We used the composite foundation beams as we didn't want to worry about them getting wet in our damp location. Husband, 15 year old son and I were the build team. We got the cabin up in a day with the shingles going on the 2nd day. The hardest part was applying 3 coats of Sikkens as we wanted to ensure we don't need to do this again anytime soon...! We have installed a DPM, floor insulation and a ply floor, covered in carpet tiles. Just need to get our electrics up to the cabin now and a deck built! Very pleased with Tuin, the neighbours are eyeing our cabin with envy! Have already recommended!

we brought this log cabin and within a week we had painted and erected, it when together really well and we are now in the process of installing electrics into the log cabin

Excellent cabin Jackalyn 5 x 4. Put up in two days in May18 when dry and sunny by two people. I added 50mm Celotex on roof so used 65mm clout nails and 75mm on apex, but should have used 70mm on apex as some apex ones came through inside. I emailed and confirmed red shingles, but dark green arrived on the day. I emailed but got told you get what your given despite email. They then offered two 2.5 tins of weathercare for half price which was too late to wait for, having already received my delivery from 0.7 miles from arctic truck via Moffat to my house (7.5 tonne restriction in roads) I'm really pleased with the solid construction which is on a concrete plinth. Only downside was the colour shingles but I've got used to them now. PS used silkkens light oak stain and it went a bit too orangey for me so I should have used the clear in hindsight, but I'm sure it'll mellow over summer. I got the cabin gutters cheaper from eBay in a nicer colour too (only had grey on Tuin). Thanks Tuin I would buy from you again and recommend 5*

Extremely pleased with the log cabin from Tuin.
Excellent delivery service and excellent quality product.
I already had my concrete base ready so I literally put the pallet of materials next to the base,layed out all the pieces in order.
I literally had the whole thing assembled in a few hours including boarding the roof.
I then fitted the shingles the next day.
I can honestly say that it was the easiest assembly of such a structure and I have erected lots of sheds and outbuildings as I’m a landscape gardener/designer.
Would absolutely recommend tuin for price and service all day long.

My kit arrived and was really well packed. I actually managed to build it by myself in just over a day, with another day for the shingles. It's been a graft but enjoyable at the same time. I would highly recommend Tuin for anyone thinking of buying a cabin.

This was my first major DIY project. The Tuin tutorials, blogs and videos gave me the confidence to just do it. It took me 4 days to level and prepare the base. This was the most difficult bit.

The organisation, communication and delivery driver were exceptional. The quality of the cut logs was excellent and myself and my wife (it needs 2 people realistically) built the walls of the cabin and roof support beams in a day. This was really simple. It took another day to put on the roof which was also straight forward. I then installed installation on the roof, which took another day.

The roof shingles took another day and a half to install but I was dodging showers and gales of wind. I had to watch the video twice of how to do this, as it is critical where to place the roof tacks and get things started correctly.

The floor took me another day and a half but it was my own design with insulation.

Painting the cabin took 3 days and this included using a spraygun for the large wall areas.

Overall it was straight forward to do, even for a novice like me. It was hard work, yet enjoyable and really rewarding. The base was the hardest and most critical bit. The actual cabin due to the excellent production finish and support was simple. The Tuin product is highly recommended.

A friend advised us that Tuin had a big range of log cabins. They were understating how much.... Once we had chosen the sizes we required we chose the Jackalyn 5m x 4m . After ordering online we got a call to arrange a day convenient for us and then a phone call on the day to let us know what time. Our road wasn't big enough for the articulated lorry that was delivering it but that was no problem either. It was well packed in a waterproof jacket so made it easier to leave until we had built base. Putting together was a doddle and the instructions very clear..... We (3) were surprised something so big went up easily in about 4 hours to roof planking..... I Did under estimate how long it would take to put shingles on as 2 of us took the same time as construction time !!!! That aside I was very impressed all along the process on the quality and ease of the log cabin.....

We are delighted with our Tuin Summerhouse.
The wood is all of very high quality and it was expertly packed so it was easy to identify which section of wood was, for each part of the build.
The windows are of high quality as are the double doors.
It was easy to construct and took 2 days with two working on it. Longest part was laying the floor and felting the roof.

The whole experience has been excellent - from the advice and info in blogs helping us as first-time cabin buyers, through good comms arranging delivery, to the care taken by the artic lorry driver to stop traffic and unload carefully on our drive.
We took the advice and got a very level base which helped 2 guys assemble the cabin in a day, roof on, with the shingles done next day.
The cabin quality is really good and, insulated floor and ceiling means heat and sound retention is better than we expected too.
This wasn't an "impress your friends" cabin but everyone who's been in it or seen it loves the cabin.
We have a great new room and are recommending TUIN to anyone we know thinking of a cabin.

As soon as we received delivery we unpacked and it was obvious of the quality of the whole package.

We started construction the day after onto a prepared concrete base and we completed the whole cabin within 4 days including a heavy duty timber floor, red roof tile shingles.

We have treated the whole structure with three coast of Oak colour preservative and coated the windows and doors mellow yellow

The cabin looks superb and will be used as a music room at the bottom of the garden.

Tuin are without doubt the premier Company in Europe providing a high quality product and great value.
