First and fore most I'd like to say I really like this cabin and enjoyed assembling it. It looks great at the bottom of my long narrow Victorian garden. Delivery was fantastic, to kerbside, bang on time and helpful. Initial assembly of foundation beams walls and rafters straight forward and intuitive.

Now to the issues; Instructions for the Pent roof and Barge boards were really unclear, contradictory and ambiguous at times. Also some guidance about how best to apply Easi Membrane to the corners of a pent roof would be hugely helpful. This was the first time I have assembled anything like this, clearer diagrams would have made this a lot easier especially as the build took place in late September just as the Monsoon season broke. However the weather is the weather.

The one surprising, disappointing and negative note was the presence of woodworm damage to three separate bits of timber. [ 1x cabin wall, 2x roof boards]. This was only really noted after assembly. Given the emphasis Tuin places on the quality of the timber it uses I wasn't looking out for this as a potential issue. No other reviews mention this nor does Tuin say this is a possible issue and what to do about it. I treated the affected timber and hopefully it will have no long term consequences.

Very pleased with our new cabin. Excellent Service - Communication was very good, delivery on time. Materials are good quality. Two people needed to erect, took two days to complete. Would definitely recommend this company.

Great service right from order to delivery. I was impressed how quickly and easily it took to install. 2 days on my own incl. installing the internal floor. Loads of helpful info on the website for anything I was unsure of.

We get loads of positive comments from visitors too.

Thank you

The 28mm cabin i purchased was good quality, no missing items, went together easily as per diagram and instructions, I found the video on the web site useful, there was a bit of joinery work involved and putting the door frame together, which was very vague in the instructions, there was not enough detailed information on the flat roof. I actually extended the roof at the rear so that the water would run off away from the rear wall, the roof boards were to me a bit too short. Very pleased and would recommend this cabin.

very happy with this log cabin - good size and attractive design - great team via Tuin put it together well too - just would suggest that you choose the membrane version of the roof covering because the free covering will not last more than a few years.

Really pleased with my log cabin, it looks really good. Well thought out construction. Arrived by lorry early one morning, polite and professional driver. No parts were missing, went together well. Took one person with DIY skills a week to put up. Just one criticism , more photos please of the sheds construction on website would help identify parts and assembly.

I had planned to build a Log Cabin to replace an old shed in the back garden after helping a friend build a Tuin Gazebo a few years ago.
During the lockdown i spent a lot of time researching the many different companies who supply these kit structures, but everytime came back to the Tuin log cabins not only due to previous knowledge of the quality of building but also the fantastic service. I made my choice of the Uddel Modern 3.8 x 2.6m cabin that would fit perfectly into the limited space i had.
The transaction was easy and very quickly i was given a delivery date. The delivery was made as stated and the very helpful driver was very cool and drove down a narrow road into my cul-de-sac with his fork lift .
The assembly of the building was very easy and was constructed on a Victorian style plinth of flag stones and concrete blocks due to the fact i could not get sand and cement during lockdown restrictions to make a concrete foundation. This method worked fantastically (it took 1 week to create this )and the building was erected by myself in 2 days it took a further
week to coat with wood preserver (3 coats) and felt the roof.
The end result is a Fantastic spacious log cabin of very high quality that has transformed our garden and has been used both as a beautiful relaxing and peaceful space in the garden and also very useful for storage.
All in all a brilliant quality experience with no regrets at all. Well done Tuin!!

Just finished installing an Uddel log cabin as a replacement for our old and decrepit pool shed. We chose Tuin as we had previously installed a Wolfgang cabin several years back and felt that the quality was much better than most ordinary sheds. Construction was relatively straightforward, but, unlike the Wolfgang, you have to make up the door frames, which was a bit of a pain.
I would say that the larger component log cabins are much better, but the Uddel was only available in 28mm logs, which is a pity. I also felt that the pitch on the pent roof is a bit shallow, as water does not run off cleanly.
Would I recommend Tuin and buy another? Yes to both.

This log cabin was purchased to replace an existing shed. The quality of the log cabin is far superior to the shed, even though the shed was expensive and top of its range. I spent quite a lot of time preparing the base and this made erecting the cabin quite easy. The instructions for this cabin were fine until it came to the roof but I worked it out in the end. The slope on this pent roof is very shallow and I decided to add corrugated roofing sheets for peace of mind. Putting up a log cabin is considerably more work than erecting a shed however I expect the log cabin to last for years. It is excellent quality and looks amazing.

I took delivery of the shed some weeks back before the UK lockdown, so I’m very glad I ordered it when I did. I haven’t constructed it yet as I’m still building the base so I can’t comment on the actual shed.
However, I’m very happy to comment on the delivery. The driver and I wish I had his name so that I could thank him personally as he really went out of his way to provide a top quality delivery service. I first received a call from the driver to say his truck had an issue with one of the front tyres which was being replaced as a result, he said he would let me know when it was fixed and he was on the road again.
The driver rang back as he said he would to say he was on his way. I had already warned him that I live at the end of a cul de sac so not a good idea to drive his artic to my street. The driver duly parked some distance away, not in my road and used his forklift to deliver the shed. My driveway is not wide enough to take the forklift and the shed so he had to leave it at the top of the drive.
All in all a truly great service and I would not hesitate to recommend Tuin just based on their amazing delivery service! Keep up the good work.

This was my second Tuin cabin, having built the first in the garden of our previous house when we needed garden storage in the garden of the new house I didn’t hesitate to buy one from the Tuin web site.
As previously it came in under budget, was delivered on time and had every part present and correct. I had a few queries , as the instructions are not exactly intuitive, but Tuin provide excellent support in the phone and by email. Take their advice about the necessity of the base to be FLAT and LEVEL very seriously.
Once again the result was excellent and I am very happy I ordered the composite material support beams and the butyl rubber roof (although a 3rd can of glue would have been appreciated). Highly recommended.

Delivery driver very helpful and with the use of the Moffat able to place packages where required. Did block road for a bit, which caused havoc for a lot of learner drivers who use the street, trying to reverse or turn around their cars!
When unpacking and sorting the various parts, you need to be aware that this can take a fair bit of space. I was able to use drive and also store items like doors, windows, roofing and small parts in garage. Also having the various parts near to where the log cabin is being built saves a lot of walking when assembling.
This is quite straight forward once the foundation layer is built. To ensure that the cabin was square I used plywood sheets, which I was using for the flooring, which having manufactured square edges to ensure squareness (my local B&Q has a timber saw so can cut to any size required). The wall with the door and window in becomes ‘floaty’ as nothing connects right across until the last few layers, although the door/window frames can help, but I used the final top board as a temporary hold whilst working up and just moved this up layer by layer. Door and window frames were put in when logs had been fully assembled, as this seemed easier, than trying to fit logs into framework, and architrave round doors and windows when fitted and screwed down tight locks everything together. As with all wood some logs have various twists etc. in them, but once fitted together the weight above and other logs tends to bring things back into shape. A spare piece of wood and a heavy hammer can be used to make sure that things are square and even at the ends of the logs.
The only area that caused a few issues was around the soffits and roof.
The roof boards are the same length as the normal logs but the final top logs and roof beams have an overhang of 170mm as against 90mm on the other logs. It would appear that the roof boards should be set centrally with a gap at the front and rear and the soffits fitted to the longer logs and roof beams. This leaves the issue as to how to weatherproof this part of the logs that overhang and not covered by the roof boards, but does mean that rain drains off the back, and guttering can be fitted to channel this away. Having fitted my roof boards level with the front of the 170mm overhang meant that there was only a slight overhang at the back and additional brackets were made to extend the roof at the back and to add guttering.
The soffit front and rear panel are shown as being joined in the middle with a piece of wood being used to join them. This joint seems rather weak, so I cut one of the boards in half and staggered the joint using exterior wood glue to glue all the boards together resulting in a lot more solid board. This also meant that it was easier to fit as one solid board rather that four individual boards. I also added additional brackets at the front to add further support to the soffit.
The only error found was that the recess on the window frame for the handle was not quite deep enough but this was soon resolved with an electric sander.
Good solid log cabin and good response from Tuin when emailing queries. Spare logs etc. so that additional parts can be made or choice as to what parts look better for architrave etc.
This cabin was built single handed by someone nearly 70 and took a couple of days so should be possible to complete in one day if younger or help available.

Great service and delivery. Browsed just about every cabin site going but kept coming back to Tuin based on quality and price. Only took me a day and a half to assemble completely (I would say I'm a competent diyer). No issues other than two slightly warps lengths of timber but these were put lower down and have settled in to place nicely. As other reviewers have said a region at the instructions to make them clearer is the only negative I had. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking at purchasing a cabin.

Delivery to the kerbside was effortless, the driver came up the street using his forklift as the street is too narrow for a lorry. With no front space to leave it in, I dismantled the package on the pavement and stored the cabin in the hallway all within 40 minutes.
After a week of wood preservative work , working alone, I tackled the assembly and it was all up and roofed within a week.
I spent a lot of time in the initial stage making sure the first layers were square on the supplied base pieces and once satisfied thus, was able to work much quicker.
I would recommend this cabin to others.

I can't rate the Tuin Uddel cabin highly enough. The whole experience was positive from the start. The cabin arrived in the way that was described in my delivery email and the on the day the delivery email said. When I did ring the office to enquire about the delivery they returned my call within 10 mins and assured me that the delivery would happen on the day specified and it did. The packaged was brilliantly wrapped and completely watertight as I had to leave it unwrapped for a couple of weeks until I was ready to build. When I was ready the planks and logs were all labelled so sorting into piles of the same type was easy and the plan of the build easy to follow. The quality of the planks is exceptional with only one slightly warped which for me adds a bit of character. The doors and windows are extremely high quality and were fitted and hung with ease and precision. I was amazed at how easily and precisely everything fitted together. So much so that I was able, individually, to build the whole cabin in less than 2 days. The only problem I encountered was a missing window lever which when I let Tuin know sent me out one immediately without any problem. Again brilliant customer service. I have to give the product and Tuin themselves 5 stars and I would recommend them and their buildings to anyone who is looking for a quality garden building at a great price. The value for money is superb. I look to forward to many days spent in my new Uddel cabin. Thanks Tuin.

Roomy and solid. I got a professional builder to erect the structure and apart for a slight width problem with the double doors (fixed) the construction went smoothly. The cabin is sitting on a full concrete base and so everything is level and firm. Time will tell if anything shifts or warps, but I can't see that happening just yet. The cabin has been painted fully on the outside with a quality paint.

I purchased the Uddel Modern Log Cabin after reading many horror stories about another supplier of log cabins and felt reassured by the depth and honesty of information and advice on the Tuin website.
The log cabin arrived a day earlier than expected, which worked perfectly, and was unloaded and delivered very efficiently by the friendly Dutch lorry driver.
After watching the instructional video on youtube, and armed with a few basic tools, and friend and I tackled the construction of the loft one day in February. We started at 9am by unpacking the timber and laying it in part order in the garden. By 11.30 we had started assembling the foundation beams (we had to increase the footprint of the base, which delayed us a bit) and by 5.20pm the whole structure was up minus the roofing felt (as i wanted to add insulation). It went together incredibly easily and surprisingly fast once you got in a rhythm. The door and window assembly took a little while, and the roof fascias needed a bit of thought to get to work, but nothing too taxing. I've now insulated the roof, added a skin of OSB and topped with the roofing felt, while inside i have insulation between timber bearers (i used the packing material for this) a loft board floor and then interlocking EVA foam garage floor tiles on top of that. It looks great and feels like a proper building. Really pleased!

After reading some terrible feedback on another company I was considering buying my log cabin from, I found Tuin and was instantly impressed by its extensive and very honest guide and blog. Having selected the Uddel cabin it was delivered a day early by a very friendly Dutch lorry driver. This worked perfectly as his artic would have caused traffic mayhem the following morning.
Before I came to build the shed with the help of a friend I watched the Tuin build video which explained the process well. We unpacked the timber, sorted it into parts and begun assembling the foundation beams. This threw up a bit of an issue as the base was slightly too small - the foundation beams are not flat underneath. So need support under their full width. That took an extra half hour or so, then we started slotting in the logs and it is amazing how fast the cabin goes up. The door and window assembly is a bit more involved but we started unpacking the timber at 9am and had the entire structure up by 5.20pm! The instructions were fairly clear - only the roof fascias were a little confusing as they don’t go full width front and back so you have to join in the middle and support so they don’t sag. A week later I added 50mm insulation on the roof topped with OSB board and then the roofing felt. Inside I added 50mm insulation, using the packing timber as bearers, then loft boards and a top surface of interlocking EVA garage floor tiles. The cabin is great and Tuin were excellent throughout the process.

Mostly went together really well - I did it on my own, with only DIY experience, never built anything like this - and it took about 2.5 days to build (excluding preserver/paint). The roof instructions are not very clear - the tongue & groove planks were too short to go the full length and it was unclear how you were supposed to position them. I resolved it by adding a plank the opposite way round to fill the gap but it required screwing a thick plank to the top log beforehand. The front and back bargeboard join design isn't great either as putting it together per the diagram resulted in the joiner wood splitting in two. In the end I joined it together differently. Generally very good though as I know people who've bought cheaper cabins elsewhere and it has taken 2 of them much much longer to do it. Delivery was excellent in a difficult location.
Tuin reply: Thank you for your review, we are sorry the plans were not clear regarding the roof boards. A gap is usually left at the rear of the roof to allow for drainage, this gap is hidden by the rear bargeboard. Guttering can also be applied at this point.

We ordered our Uddel cabin and it came in the specified time, delivery was good put it exactly where I wanted it, very efficient. I had ordered the Pré soaked treatment for the cabin, but Tuin phoned me up and made me aware that, if I went ahead with this on the order then it would add a further 8 to 12 weeks delivery time, this was unacceptable to us, so we opted for untreated cabin, it arrived on the day stated and at the time stated, just what we wanted. The construction of the cabin would be straight forward, if the instructions were more explicit, a lot of time was spent working out what the instruction meant, also the main roof beams needed to go in a specific way, as we found out when we fitted them and then realised and had to refit them, which was ok, but been a lot easier if instructions had said about this, overall I very pleased with the Cabin, I've treated it with 1 coat of clear would treatment so far and it's bringing out the beauty of the wood wonderfully, will give extra treatment when the weather allows me to do this. The length of the roof sections leaves you in a dilemma as to exactly fit them, no explanation as to where to start, we got around this by adjusting the length of the main side lengths, which I was very unsure about, but does seem to be ok now. So with more information on the instructions, even page numbers would help slightly this would have been an easy installation, obviously I built this myself and did not pay for an installation team, would have been easier, but a lot more expensive. The cabin one erected is really good and I'm very pleased.

Cabin delivered when specified and VERY well packed.
Their was plenty of wood supplied, to build and as spare, so I could build a proper frame for the flooring.
The only issues I had were that I had the dipping treatment done and some of the wood was quite distorted, so made it quite difficult in places to slot together and made some gaps in some of the panels.
I would totally recommend the cabin for service, delivery, quality and price

Upon arrival the log cabin did look daunting, purely down to the amount of pieces involved. However I have to say that it went together very easily over a weekend comfortably and without any problem whatsoever. Prior to delivery I did ask several basic questions of the support staff and received answers to every query very quickly. I am impressed greatly by both the product and the service provided and would recommend Tuin to anyone.

A very good all round experience. Delivered as requested by a very helpful driver. Plentiful good advice on the website covered any issues that were not obvious. A good base is the key to success and cabin construction was straightforward taking just as long as suggested on the site. I am not a tradesman just a diy'r and very happy with the finished cabin, a cut above a typical garden shed for not much more expense.

The cabin arrived on time from The Netherlands. It was very well packed. Initial slight puzzlement about one or two of the parts soon gave way to rapid construction. There were even suggestions about utilising the left-over planking. The cabin is robust and well crafted. My builder thought it excellent value compared to the price one would have to pay for a smilar-sized UK-made shed.

I would recommend anyone to use Tuin, they are truly excellent! Also something so rare today ...excellent customer service. All question answered promptly, the delivery was exactly as they said, and as to putting the log cabin up just follow the well written instructions and it helps to know there is always a phone number to call if you get a bit confused. But it looks absolutely marvellous and the quality is excellent. 5 star all the way.

Having decided to go with Tuin for my 3.8x2.6 Uddel Modern Log Cabin I was delighted with the standard of service including the website, confirmation phone calls, breakdown of invoice and advice re flooring and roofing. Delivery was right down to the day giving me enough time to install a base. I also decided to go with one of their recommended installers who cover Scotland and went with Alan Storey and his wife Caroline, who took 2 days to install, an excellent recommendation. I will definitely consider Tuin if my wife's plan for a "she shed " comes to fruition.

This is a reasonable log-cabin-style shed. It feels sturdy and is a reasonable design. However the fact that the wood is untreated generates a lot of problems, especially if you need to put it up in winter and don't have the weather or space to paint or treat every piece before assembly! It could be better with a couple of simple tweaks.
Tuin reply: Thank you for your review. All the cabins are untreated as advised. However, we also offer pre-treatment options should they be required if you are not able to treat yourself:
