We are absolutely thrilled with the Ipswich we built as a garden space/ office during the Covid lockdown. We chose to build it on a raised timber deck bearing onto concrete blocks which are themselves sat on small concrete pads. The cabin fitted perfectly, erection was very simple although i was not prepared for how heavy the window unit is and was fortunate to have 2 teenage boys to help. Getting the cabin up is the easy part, the roof boards, insulation & shingles all took longer and as we were insulating the floor between timber beams this took a fair amount of time also. We insulated both the floor (50mm)and the roof (75mm) and as the weather cools it is keeping very snug. Paint was supplied by SML using Demidekk Ultimate. This required one coat of visit primer and 3 coats of paint. Not particularly quick to apply but we are delighted with the result. Only slight niggle was with the doorset. In the end we got a joiner to sort this - money we'll spent.
Overall a fantastic cabin & service.

I found the ordering process somewhat complex as special offers were added then when I went to order the offer had expired causing confusion. The delivery of the cabin was made difficult as the only vehicles that deliver the cabins are 40 tonne articulated trucks that cannot access rural areas with narrow lanes meaning that we had to ask a friendly farmer some miles away to unload the truck in his yard. Then we had to organise transport to our address- several small journeys using box vans.
The cabin itself is great quality and well engineered and our installers erected it in 2-3 days.

I took up the option of the 27mm flooring - the quality of which is questionable with several planks split and containing big knot holes. I think I would have been better going to Wickes/ Travis Perkins for better quality flooring.

Overall, I'm happy with the cabin build and finish- just some remedial work to do to the floor

Well what can I say - its brilliant, the Ipswich Log Cabin is just superb.
After looking through numerous websites trying to identify exactly what our requirements for a garden office were, we realised that Tuin stood out from its competitors.
The quality and price point are great, from placing the order, to arranging delivery all handled very efficiently.
Upon their recommendation I utilised Phillip from Osorio Installations, his team constructed the cabin in a day from start to finish at, what I thought, was a very reasonable price.
So in summary the Cabin is now in daily use as an office, the quality is superb couldn't be happier and yes if I ever need another cabin or need to recommend one - I wouldn't hesitate to use Tuin.

The cabin is fantastic so well designed. Great value for the excellent quality. When we went to order the cabin the special offer had discontinued but Tuin honoured the special rate - huge relief as it is a much superior cabin to others we have researched.

Absolutely fabulous cabin. Really exceptional quality. The timber is really thick and the cabin is extremely substantial. It is now a fantastic addition to both the house (extra room) and garden (fortress of solitude). Tuin provided outstanding customer service from start to finish.Thankyou Tuin!

I spent 8 months, on and off researching the net for a log cabin to use as a workshop in the garden of our new property. Tuin, (notably Richard) provided the best information on the net about what to look for, what to consider and how to apply it. After some email correspondence with Richard, I chose a cabin that would fit on an existing concrete slab in my garden. However, Richard, bless him, offered me a similar cabin, (slightly smaller but with a large balcony), that was old stock and water damaged, but at a bargain price. I was confident in Richard's choice so I took his offer. The cabin is called the Louisiana. It is the same as the Ipswich with one exception; the logs are 50mm, not 58mm. I read all Richard's advice and watched the videos before starting on the unpacking and the build. I decided I'd apply preservative to the timber before building the cabin so the timber would get an even coat, everywhere, especially in the joints. That was a mammoth task but in doing so I realised that only half of the cabin had been delivered... Richard immediately arrange d for the second half of the delivery and I managed to preserve the new batch before we started the erection. I arranged for a skilled mate to come and help. Once we sorted the base levels, (which took a day), we got the shed up (in the rain) in half a day. The roof took most of the time; nailing 162 roof boards and applying the shingles.
I've had problems stopping the rain getting under the foundation beams because the concrete slab is old and a bit friable but the cabin now looks fantastic and the space inside is great. It is extremely well built and I am amazed at the level of detail that is applied to the machining of the timber. As Richard says, trust the plan, keep looking at it whilst your building the cabin and it will all work fine. He's quite right. I'm chuffed to bits with it. I would heartily recommend anyone, looking for a log cabin, to get it from Tuin.

The build went very well. You are quite right. It is easy(relatively) if you keep looking at the plans.... the cabin looks fantastic. It occupies much more space than originally envisaged but that's a good thing and the build quality is excellent. I'm chuffed to bits with it. Thank you for all your help and advice whilst I was chewing on the options. I'm particularly pleased that I went with Tuin. It's very difficult making a choice such as this without touching the product, and having to rely on the marketing stuff on the websites. Your blogs make the difference.

The good things:
High quality logs, accurately machined.
The logs were easy to assemble once the foundation beams were in the correct place and the piles of timber were sorted appropriately.
Richard and Karen were very helpful.
The delivery came before 7am and the fork lift was able to position the pallets in an awkward spot right in front of the house.
Impressive looking log cabin for the price.
Sikkens Cetol Novatech Woodstain is quick to apply and looks good.
The not so good things:
Finding someone to level the ground and do the concrete base.
The written instructions and drawings could be clearer and a few more pictures would help.
Treating the timber and allowing it to dry (Don't mention the weather!).
The window handles were stiff and a screw holding the catch plate had broken off.
The complete windows and frame is very heavy and hard to move into position. It probably needed dismantling.
Apart from these minor problems, the log cabin is brilliant. Thanks
