My aim was to set out 12 posts to act as the foundation for a long (5 segment) larch building. The challenge was to set these out so that (1) the tops of the posts are at pretty much the same level (2) the posts are the appropriate distances apart and (3) the front and rear posts are in a straight line and square to each other. Before starting, I made a number of simple jigs out of aluminium angle, to aid in setting out and levelling, together with a simple former to help in setting the posts in concrete - my ground is soft clay. The foundation posts are heavy, so I also made a simple carrying bar with 16mm hole and a short 16mm bolt that fits into the screw thread in the post. I used the straight foundation post to assist in setting the post vertical. Each post sits on a 30cm square concrete flagstone, levelled and placed in the hole before concreting around it. I found that I needed to allow a full day to dig out one hole, set the foundation post in position and pour concrete around it - the most time-consuming element being to set the foundation post in the desired position. From my experience to date, the product appears to be good, my chief gripe being the limited guidance from Tuin on the practicalities of how to position and instal the posts. It's fortunate that I enjoy a challenge!

Good. Did the job. Made the levelling of the gazebo much easier. Would recommend.
