Much like our range of Gazebos, our Pergolas provide a soft-top alternative to sturdy outdoor shelter, perfect for housing outdoor garden furniture or similar display pieces.
Garden Arches on the other hand add smaller but much needed structure to your garden’s appearance. You can use these to aide raised beds, make an entrance to your garden or garden area, you can even have an arbour for a seating area.
Our roofed Pergolas partner very well with our Wooden Gazebos as well as our seasonal Summerhouses.

You can relax knowing that all our styles of pergola frames are highly durable ready to transform your outdoor space from the moment they have been built. Discover the many benefits of these different pergola frame types:
A great choice for those looking for a pergola with minimal maintenance. These sleek modern pergola designs are a great alternative to a traditional garden gazebo or metal veranda. Made from powder coated aluminium, these pergolas are highly versatile and customisable freestanding structures.
For those wanting a more natural blend of aesthetics for their outdoor space, look no further than our wooden pergola frames. Constructed with pressure treated timber, these designs are an excellent framework for your to grow climbing plants and more, transforming it into an outdoor haven.
Now you've have an idea of the type of pergola that you want, now it's time to talk roofs. We have a selection of different roofing options associated with our garden pergola designs.
Lightweight and durable, a synthetic roof is an elegant option for a garden structure with enduring beauty. You can choose between pergolas with a solid synthetic roof, or ones with retractable roof mechanisms, allowing you to customise your garden shade.
A stylish and modern roofing solution, louvre style pergola roofs are metal panels that open and close like a set of blinds. With this roof design, you can enjoy the benefits of both retractable and solid roofing.
Instructions for the majority of the pergola building process are fairly simple and straightforward. The only thing that can be fairly tricky to install is a retractable roof.
For this installation you will need:
Drill with bits
Screwdriver or power driver
Ladder
Spirit Level
Measuring tape
Ensure the pergola space is prepared before measuring, laying out the brackets and attaching the tracks. You can then mount the retractable canopy, test and make adjustments accordingly.
This will once again primarily focus on the synthetic roof types, as the aluminium pergolas require very minimal maintenance. Mainly, you should clean and synthetic roof once or twice a year to remove any stains, debris etc. that has been built up. Scrub gently with warm soapy water and a non-abrasive sponge and allow plenty of time to air dry.
We understand that worries can pop up when making any large garden purchase. Here are some common problems and concerns along with how to rectify them:
Sun damage, stains and mold on my synthetic roof: A very prominent concern but what not to be worried about, as our synthetic roof options reflect nearly all UV radiation. As for stains and mold forming in wetter weather conditions, it's important to spot clean when needed to prevent permanent stains forming. Regular cleaning as stated will help too.
A lightweight roof can't handle heavy rain: Whether a solid or retractable variant, a lightweight roof is still made of durable synthetic material in order to withstand heavy rain. The only thing to keep an eye on is any sitting water that could sit on top of the roof as it could strain the material over time.
Sides cannot be added to my pergola: As mentioned, our pergolas are highly versatile and customisable. Many customers add features, sides and panels to add a distinct look to their pergola space. This is highly encouraged on our DIY wooden pergola products.
Wooden pergolas blowing away in heavy winds: All our pergolas are built to be secured firmly into the ground of your garden. Unlike something like a pop up gazebo, these will not blow away in heavy winds.
Not building my DIY pergola correctly: A very common concern when carrying out any DIY garden project. It is important when building DIY or from scratch to double measure any cuts or angles you make, as well as taking a slow and steady approach in your construction.
There are many ways to make the most of your garden pergola space. Much like our log cabins, a pergola is highly versatile, suitable for a number of uses. This includes:
Fully customisable sun spot: With many styles, roof designs and DIY options, you can fully customise your garden pergola experience into something you can be proud of.
Elegant outdoor dining space: Come rain or shine, you can enjoy your pergolas as a dedicated dining area for family or for hosting guests.
Cheaper garden building option for the DIYer: Due to the more DIY centric nature of garden pergolas, they are a much cheaper alternative for those wanting a sheltered outdoor space that they can make their own.
There are a lot of misconceptions associated with owning a garden pergola with roof. Let us clear up some common misunderstandings to help you make an informed decision.
Garden pergolas are flimsy and not stable: Whether you pick pressure treated timber or aluminium as your frame, both are exceptionally sturdier in spite of their lighter weight and are secured firmly to the ground, highly unlikely to become flimsy over time.
You need a lot of DIY skills to build a pergola: Unlike some of our douglas building projects, our pergolas can be constructed with very basic DIY knowledge, making them very accessible
You need expensive tools to install properly: You only require basic DIY tools in order to install a pergola properly, including its roof. These include a drill, screwdriver, ladder, spirit level and measuring tape.
A roofed pergola requires a base to be built: Unlike the foundations needed for a wooden log cabin or gazebo, pergolas are best built directly into the ground or patio of your garden, providing the area is level and flat.
