Treated Log Cabins

Description

Add a little extra protection with our pre-treated log cabins. These cabins are treated in a rot proof treatment- Often in a green colour. These increase the durability and lifespan of a log cabin but will need to be treated further when installing to protect the timber against the weather and elements we experience in the UK. Regular treatment makes your cabin less likely to rot or deteriorate over time.

These are available in a large selection of styles and shapes, from modern buildings with flat/pent roofs to corner cabins for all garden sizes and shapes. Our log cabin range increases every year so look out for new arrivals.

We always try and offer the best pricing possible on our log cabins, look out for our special offers and deals we offer on FREE roofing shingles.

Treated Log Cabin Kits

All our Log Cabins are designed for self-assembly, including all the fixings. With just a few tools, you can build your Log Cabin at any DIY level. The interlocking logs fit easily into one another, and our windows all come pre-assembled. This means you don't have to put them together, you just simply need to slot them in.

All kits are included with pictorial instructions, alongside our very detailed Log Cabin Installation Guide and Log Cabin Advice. These pages will cover all areas of your log cabin installation.

Benefits of a Log Cabin

Our Log Cabins make for a great space to relax in any UK Garden. Not only that, but their presence really stands out and completes the look of plenty of gardenscapes, which you can decorate to really make your own.

Cabins provide an excellent storage solution for your home and a good answer to reorganising and providing extra space. Not only can they be used to home outdoor and garden items, but become an extension of your indoor spaces, whether that be for leisure, or a separate space for work.

If your home is just too small, be it for storage or for your hobby. A treated log cabin could be the solution for that little bit of extra space, an extension of your home if you will. Ideal for a range of uses, find the size most appropriate for your garden, and take advantage of the extra room your timber log cabin provides.

Delivery of your Log Cabin

Our pre-treated log cabins come in prepalletise kits and will arrive via an articulated vehicle with a demountable, self powered forklift to move the packages. Delivery will be curbside which usually means a driveway or a side path to your garden, you don’t have to be there for delivery. Please contact us if there are any limitations regarding size of your unloading area and access.

Once your delivery has been made, please check all packages to ensure all items have arrived securely and without damage.

Log Cabin Bases

One of the most important parts of the build installation is a reliable base. To ensure our Log Cabins have the long life span as intended a flat and level base is required for any building.

A base can be pretty much made out of anything: concrete, timber, paving stones. But, any base provided for any log cabin has to follow this criteria:

  • Consideration should be given to the majority of the weight being placed on the perimeter of the cabin.
  • Consideration should be given to the weight of the cabin, a 19mm is obviously considerably different to a 70mm.
  • It should be 100% level in every direction.
  • Ideally it should be square.
  • Ideally to just over the footprint size of the cabin.

For more details, please read Base Requirements for Log Cabins.

Insulating Log Cabins

For all year round use, insulating your log cabin is important to consider. Insulation will help your cabin stay warmer in the winter, and cooler during the summer heatwaves. Essential for keeping heating and electric costs lower in your cabin.

While we don’t sell pre-insulated kits, we do sell Log Cabin Insulation Packs. These kits will give you all the supplies needed for insulating both your log cabin floor and roof.

Use of a Log Cabin

Our Log Cabins can have a variety of purposes for a UK Garden. The thickness of the logs give an indication of their appropriate usage. Please see examples below:

19mm Thick Logs - This is a shed, ideal for storage and sturdier than traditional panel construction.

28mm Thick Logs - These are a great all rounder and lend themselves to a perfect summer house for occasional use. However, with modifications they can be perfect for all year around use. Generally though, we would recommend you opt for a thicker log for more thermal capacity for all year around use.

34 - 45mm Thick Logs - More appropriate for annual usage. This range is a good balance between heat costs and budget costs of the actual log cabin. Regardless, you will need to add insulation to the roof along with the floor for optimal year-round use.
