Rick Log Cabin 3.0 x 5.95m

Explore the possibilities of Working from Home with the 40mm double glazed Rick Log Cabin. This building measures 3.0m x 5.95m and is below 2.5m in height. Ideal for UK gardens and great for use as a small garden office.

This building has been specifically designed for the UK.

The Rick Log cabin is of an apex design with double doors to the front, to the side is three opening windows. Double glazed and with substantial 40mm logs this Log Cabin could be used as a small garden office with the application of insulation in both the roof and floor. To the front is a 500mm canopy offering shade and protection to the doors.

This log cabin is manufactured using quality 40mm Spruce logs. All timber used is specially selected for the interlocking construction and must comply with high Dutch standards. These standards ensure there is no mixture of timbers in the wall logs like spruce and pine.

The windows can be placed in either the left or right wall, this is decided at the point of installation. The glazing bars creating the Georgian effect can be fitted or left off for a more contemporary look.

Supplied untreated, the Rick can be customised to match the unique style of each garden with the addition of contrasting or matching treatment. Don't forget about insulating your Log Cabin.

We highly recommend shingles with your log cabin: The final finish is far more superior and turns a shed into a stunning log cabin. Ordinary felt will last two - three years. Shingles will last for at least 15 years and it is unlikely you will ever need to replace them.

Firstly, great service from Turin, and great delivery of my cabin too Generally a good experience, not having erected a cabin like this before. If I have one issue, it was the roof purlins, and joining them together. I found the dowels a little on the large size, so it was impossible to join the two parts of each without first shaving these down a little, and totally impossible if you tried to join them insitu in position in the top of the structurethe only way was to do so before placing them. Also, I noted that it was easy to mix-up the smallest log parts that assemble the centre roof section to the wallsthey were not marked with part numbers, and so it was some time of trial and error to get them the right way around, as there were no clear indications in drawings or pictures! Perhaps Tuin could correct this issue. Also, I spent some time using Tuins recommendations on marking out the roof for the shingles, ensuring that chalk lines were made and also a gauge-rod to ensure the shingles were properly positioned and spaced. It can as a bit of a shock therefore to discover that I was having to use off-cuts on the final section of the roof centre line!! The only thing I can assume is you need to work out also, to leave the absolute minimum overhang at each end of the roof lastly, I found the window catches to be poor quality, and replaced these with decent quality window locks. Other things I found included the need to ensure you use sealants to seal up the ends and sides where the timber logs join, as this is a prime route for water ingress when it rains!! Personally, if I was to do this again, I would like to use a sealant where the first logs go on the base, and in all joins on all the layers of logs as they are erected, and perhaps even a final corking applied to the joints externally after painting with your choice of protectionand around the windows/doors too overall, for the price, I am pleased with the cabin, but it certainly requires some pre-thought and work to get right

Super study cabin, delighted with the quality and ease to put up. It looks really smart and as it can be seen from the road we've had lots of compliments on it.
