Carefree Protectant Timber Treatment 2.5L – Anthracite

The perfect finish for your log cabin or wooden garden building

Finish your log cabin or timber garden building with our Carefree Protectant Timber Treatment in anthracite. Developed with Valvoline, this high-quality, water-based coating provides long-lasting protection while enhancing the natural beauty of the wood with a contemporary finish.

Easy to apply and quick to dry, the treatment penetrates the timber to create a durable, breathable barrier that protects against moisture, UV rays, insects and decay. Perfect for use on log cabins, fencing, decking, posts and garden furniture, it helps to preserve the strength, colour and condition of your log cabin.

The anthracite colour allows you to create a feature in your garden. Whether you’re treating a brand-new structure or retreating older woodwork, this coating provides reliable, weather-resistant protection with a professional finish.

Aside from timber, it can also be used on concrete surfaces to improve its appearance and protect it over time. It forms a water-repellent, protective layer that prevents cracking, moisture and frost damage, keeping your outdoor areas in top condition throughout the year.

Coverage

Coverage is dependent on the individual painter but overall, you can expect 6-8 m² per litre. So, with a 2.5L tin, you can expect coverage of 15- m².

The layer thickness is around 20-30 microns on average. A depth of 80-120 microns is recommended for all log cabins. We recommend three to four coats of this treatment for maximum coverage and longevity with reapplication every few years.
