Carefree Protectant Timber Treatment 1L - White

The perfect finish for your log cabin or wooden garden building

Give your log cabin a fresh look with our Carefree Protectant Timber Treatment in white. Developed with Valvoline, this advanced water-based formular delivers exceptional weather resistance while adding a bright, modern finish that enhances the natural grain of the wood.

Penetrating deep into the timber, the treatment provides a durable barrier that protects the wood against rain, UV rays, wind and moisture, helping to prevent rot, decay and insect damage. It will keep your log cabin, timber garden building, fencing or decking in excellent condition for years to come.

The clean white finish gives your garden a crisp, clean appearance that complements both contemporary and classic garden designs. It’s ideal for new buildings or treating existing timber, offering lasting protection with a professional finish that will elevate any outdoor space.

Carefree Protectant can also be used on concrete surfaces to extend their lifespan and provide resistance to the elements. It creates a protective, weatherproof coating that helps to prevent water penetration, cracking or frost-related damage.

Coverage

Coverage is dependent on the individual painter but overall, you can expect 6-8 m² per litre. So, with a 2.5L tin, you can expect coverage of 15-20 m².

The layer thickness is around 20-30 microns on average. A depth of 80-120 microns is recommended for all log cabins. We recommend three to four coats of this treatment for maximum coverage and longevity with reapplication every few years.

Uses of Carefree Timber Treatment

The Carefree treatment range is highly recommended for use on:

  • Log cabins and all timber buildings

  • Pressure impregnated timber

  • Hardwood timber to maintain the natural colour
