Carefree Protectant Timber Treatment 1L – Concrete Grey

The perfect finish for your log cabin or wooden garden building

Give your log cabin or timber garden building a modern appearance with our Carefree Protectant Timber Treatment in concrete grey. Developed with Valvoline, this water-based treatment provides superior weather protection and offers a professional finish that enhances the natural grain of the wood.

Designed to penetrate deep into the timber, the treatment gives the wood a strong, breathable barrier that protects against rain, UV exposure, wind and moisture. Treating the wood helps to prevent rot, decay and insect damage, keeping your garden building, fencing or decking protected and looking its best throughout its lifetime.

The concrete grey colour offers a modern look that matches the rest of your garden décor or helps you to create a feature. Perfect for treating new structures and breathing new life into existing structures, this treatment delivers long-lasting protection and a durable, professional finish perfect for any outdoor space.

As well as protecting timber, Carefree Protectant can also be applied to concrete surfaces to enhance durability and appearance. It creates a protective, water-resistant layer that helps guard against moisture damage, erosion and other damage.

Coverage

Coverage is dependent on the individual painter but overall, you can expect 6-8 m² per litre. So, with a 2.5L tin, you can expect coverage of 15-20 m².

The layer thickness is around 20-30 microns on average. A depth of 80-120 microns is recommended for all log cabins. We recommend three to four coats of this treatment for maximum coverage and longevity with reapplication every few years.

Uses of Carefree Timber Treatment

The Carefree treatment range is highly recommended for use on:

  • Log cabins and all timber buildings

  • Pressure impregnated timber

  • Hardwood timber to maintain the natural colour
