Renowned for its excellent strength-to-weight ratio and natural resistance to decay, Douglas Fir is the ideal choice for a premium garden deck or a heavy-duty timber frame base for a Log Cabin. These boards feature a versatile dual-surface design: one side is relief-cut (grooved) for a classic, slip-resistant finish, while the other is planed smooth to showcase the species' famous straight grain and warm tones.

Please note: These kits are designed to be cut to size during installation. This specific range is for 3.0m width configurations.

• Treatment: Arriving pre-treated in a Black finish, we supply a touch up tub for cut ends.

• Installation: Recommended centres of 400mm (Timber must be cut to size on-site)

Installation & Foundation

This kit is supplied for installation on a flat, level area directly onto weed matting. To protect the premium timber and ensure airflow, we recommend the following:

• For Raised Decks: Use our plastic adjustable post holders or timber posts.

• 75mm Frame Beams (Included): Ideal for installation on hard, flat surfaces (like concrete) or when using adjustable base pads.

• 150mm Frame Option: If you plan to install your deck on timber posts or concrete blocks, we suggest opting for our 150mm frame version.

Hardware & Fixings Included

To match the quality of the Douglas Fir, we provide high-spec hardware for a secure build:

• Decking Screws: 5mm x 50mm stainless steel universal screws with a wax coating for effortless, rapid installation and corrosion resistance.

• Framing Screws: Heavy-duty 8mm x 80mm screws with a yellow zinc finish and large heads to resist breakage.

• Joist Hangers: Supplied for all middle joists with 4mm x 40mm screws.

• Joist Tape: Provided to protect the top of all framing timber before the Douglas Fir boards are installed.

• Treatment: for both the framing timber and decking boads is supplied.
