Carefree Protectant Timber Treatment 2.5L – White

The perfect finish for your log cabin or wooden garden building

Give your log cabin or timber garden building a fresh finish with our Carefree Protectant Timber Treatment in white. Developed with Valvoline, it’s an advanced water-based coating that provides long-term protection while adding a clean look that enhances the natural character of the wood.

Easy to apply and fast drying, the formula penetrates deeply into the timber, creating a barrier that shields against moisture, UV rays, insect damage and decay. Ideal for use on log cabins, fences, decking, posts and garden furniture, it helps to preserve the strength, appearance and integrity of the timber for years to come.

The white finish gives your garden a clean, modern look that’s perfect for traditional and contemporary garden designs. Whether you’re treating a new structure or refreshing an existing structure, this treatment offers durable, weather-resistant protection with professional results.

In addition to timber, this treatment can also be used on concrete to provide long-lasting surface protection. It forms a durable, water-resistant barrier that helps to prevent moisture penetration, cracking and weather-related damage.

Coverage

Coverage is dependent on the individual painter but overall, you can expect 6-8 m² per litre. So, with a 2.5L tin, you can expect coverage of 15-20 m².

The layer thickness is around 20-30 microns on average. A depth of 80-120 microns is recommended for all log cabins. We recommend three to four coats of this treatment for maximum coverage and longevity with reapplication every few years.

Uses of Carefree Timber Treatment

The Carefree treatment range is highly recommended for use on:

  • Log cabins and all timber buildings

  • Pressure impregnated timber

  • Hardwood timber to maintain the natural colour

  • Concrete

  • Inside buildings with a high moisture content such as saunas and log cabins with hot tubs in an enclosed space or a canopy.
