The design principle is good, enabling the height to be adjusted whilst in position, thus jacking up, or lowering a post. However, the manufacture is defective because the threaded bar is not welded to the base plate or top plate at 90 deg. Result is the support is not perpendicular and the plates are not parallel to each other. This applied to the first item a replacement was quickly sent though which was correct.
