Privacy Policy and your Personal Information

This privacy policy will inform you about the information we collect from you when you use this website, by doing so we are classed as a data controller and are required to tell you about the data well collect, why and how we use it as well as the rights you have over your data. We collect information about you in order to process your order and to tailor your visit to our website to be as relevant to you as possible. That information will only be shared with other parties that are involved in the fulfillment of your order such as our carriers. We do not send random marketing emails to email addresses (spam) or keep mailing lists.

When you place an order with us, we ask you for details that are necessary for processing and delivering your order, as well as details that we can contact you on during the process if need be. Following delivery of your order we send one request for a review via email.

The information we may hold includes:

  • Address
  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • Other information necessary for processing your order such as your delivery instructions.
  • IP Address

This data will be held in accordance with our internal security policy.

We will never collect sensitive information about you without your agreement. You have a right to ask for a copy of the information which we are holding on you.

We will delete information or correct any inaccuracies at your request. Data will only be released to third parties (e.g. the police) on request where there is a legal requirement for us to do so.

We do not use the information you provide to make any atomated descicions that may effect you, if changes are coming into action then you will be notified with the option to amend, view or delete your data if you request so.

Payment Card Industry - We are fully PCI-DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) compliant and maintain security at the highest possible levels. 

When you browse our store, we also automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address in order to provide us with information that helps us learn about your browser and operating system. This is also carried out in order to show that the correct tax was applied to the sale, which is required by law.

1. What do we do with your information?

Tuin Ltd is what is termed as the “Controller” of the personal data you provide to us under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).


When you purchase something from our store, as part of the buying and selling process, we collect the personal information you give us such as your name, address, contact numbers and email address.

When you browse our store, we also automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address in order to ensure correct VAT is being applied for your location as required by law.

2. Consent

When you provide us with personal information to create an account, place an order, arrange for a delivery or return a purchase, we will either ask you directly for your expressed consent, or provide you with an opportunity to say no.

If after you opt-in, you change your mind, you may withdraw your consent for us to contact you, for the continued collection, use or disclosure of your information, at anytime, on your account page by using our contact us form or by contacting us at info@tuin.co.uk.

3. Disclosure

We may disclose your personal information if we are required by law to do so.

We also have to disclose limited information such as your name, address, telephone number(s) and email address to our hauliers / carriers to allow them to make delivery and to contact you to arrange this. You will be made aware of the haulier that is being used for your delivery. You may wish to contact them regarding their own privacy policy with regards to your information.

We have agreements in place that they will not disclose your information further and that it will be deleted once delivery has been made.

4. Payments

We use a third party payment processor to process payments made to us. In connection with the processing of such payments, we do not retain any personally identifiable information or any financial information such as credit card numbers - Unless you expressly request us to for example: When placing a phone order and you do not want to use the websites systems or our payment link option.

We prefer payment to be done via the system implemented on our website or via the payment link that would be sent to your email with your invoice.

In general, the third-party provider used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.

However payment gateways have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.

For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers.

Once you leave our website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or our website’s Terms of Service.

When you click on links on our store, they may direct you away from our site. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites and encourage you to read their privacy statements.

6. Security

To protect your personal information, we take all reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.

All the personal data we process is processed by our staff in the UK however for the purposes of IT hosting and maintenance this information is located on servers within the UK on a secure server behind a firewall. No 3rd parties have access to your personal data unless the law allows them to do so or we have given permission as in the case of our carrier and hauliers.


We have a Data Protection regime in place to oversee the effective and secure processing of your personal data.

Email enquiries are hosted by "Google Business" within the European Economic Area. They are also stored on a Customer Relationship Management system (Zendesk) on a cloud based server. Email enquiries are stored/archived for three years before deletion, CRM records are kept for three years after the last date of contact with you. Records of orders placed are kept indefinitely.

7. Cookies

What they are and how we use them?  

Cookies are small text files that our website and sometimes emails place in your computer to ensure that your experience of our offerings is as effective as possible. They remember any options you have chosen for example and your password or particular interests. They also enable us to track visitors’ usage of our site so that we can continuously improve it. There’s nothing mysterious about them and they do not collect personal data.

Like pretty much all website owners we have always operated cookies and you have had the benefit of using them. EU regulations now require us to inform you of what they are and give you the option to prohibit them if you wish.

We’re using the word ‘cookies‘ here to include things like ‘web beacons’ and ‘Flash cookies’ which serve similar functions. ‘Your computer’ includes anything connected to the internet including laptops, office machines, tablets, mobile phones and so on.

We monitor visitor activity on our website (without collecting any data on you) so that we can improve the site structure, page routing options and processing systems to help all visitors. We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time to match when our sevices and use of personal data evolves, so please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here that it has been updated, so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we use and/or disclose it, if necessary you may be prompted to give concent if you are happy with these changes.

If you have a complaint about your information and how it is used, we would prefer if you contact us as soon as there is an issue so that this can be addressed and resolved.

If our store is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred to the new owners so that they can still process your order. However, this privacy policy will still remain in force.
